Escape the Hooved Man Fat Bike Road Trips for 2026

Experience Escape the Hooved Man, the infamous remote fat biking experience in Northern Saskatchewan, with the support of a group road trip where riders will: meet new friends, fat bike multiple trail destinations, experience Cree/Métis hospitality and culture, build confidence, learn about the land, enjoy a digital detox in a setting with no cell service or wifi and so much more. And of course, based on ability and trip length, participants will fat bike anywhere from 90 – 150km of pristine trail over the length of the trip.

These trips are for all abilities, from first-season fat bikers to seasoned experts (incl. ladies, gents, and all 2SLGBTQ+ friends). At a minimum, fat bikers should have a few months of steady experience winter riding in a range of conditions. Group rides for all trip attendees will be organized in the Winnipeg area ahead of both adventures to help users ready themselves for the trip. Preparation is key and planning support will be offered to all riders.

To learn in detail what Escape the Hooved Man is all about, everyone considering this trip should read both this full length article and this shorter but powerful write-up from a 2025 group trip attendee (view photos from the 2025 trip below). These Manitoba-based road trips are being organized in partnership between Michela Carrière of Aski Holistic Adventures (your host at Big Eddy Lodge) and event organizer Dave Ternier of Single Track Communications (STC) who will lead both trips. Your participation in an EHM Fat Bike Road Trip experience supports the ongoing work of both of these passionate trail enthusiasts.

Each trip is limited to just 18 attendees. Both trips are organized and led by Dave Ternier.
